After painting, Ġnejna Blue, I wanted to create another simple seascape and I decided that blue and orange were going to be the primary colours. It is a 50 x 40 cm acrylic on canvas, completed 06.02.2017, sun photography is featured here unusually, but this shows all the colours.
When I photograph a painting with the sun to the left, it shows up all the richness of colour. From the right, it is possible to see the 3D effect to my paintings. Shade photography intensifies the look of the painting but lacks the true colour. Direct sunshine onto the painting sometimes, but not here, bleaches out the painting’s look. However, on other occasions I have preferred to use full sun photography, as with Ġnejna Blue, to show the glittering colours of the paint.
